New lamps, for the morning room and living room!

The Utility Room

IMG_1348 IMG_1379The Avalon’s utility room is rather small to what I am accustomed.  Still it is very functional…and I had a few ideas.  My husband wanted the closet but I had the idea to leave that out and have a seating area! I wish I wasn’t outvoted : (

We had always had in mind to put in paneled wainscoting and cabinets over the washer and dryer. This we have done and it looks great. Still have the cubby area to complete. Husband wants to have the laundry basket there, so I have opted for some open wood shelves. Putting another cabinet would close off the room making it look smaller.   I added a bit of fun with clings and it really looks inviting…because it is also an entrance from the garage it should look good!

Updated photos above at top. Put in shelves on accent wall and pic so you can see the cabinets!

The Morning Room

Many times RH offers the morning room as a free or discounted option. Most often it would be used as a informal dining area, but for us it was another semi casual living area. Our children are grown and it gives us more room for family as it grows. It’s one of my favorite places in the house to have coffee!

We didn’t get the optional 2 windows on opposite end,

some to save but mostly I wanted wall space.

The Entrance

With the Elevation B you get a 2 foot punch out which makes for a very open foyer.  We chose wood staircase for a formal entrance. Trim package , with chair, crown and picture frame moldings.  To this we have added more trim on the upper walls of the foyer.  It’s not finished with that project, to use color or wall paper, photos?  To the left ( because our garage is on the left) is our dining room. Love the tray ceiling and trim package!  Used the standard light package. To the right is the Living Room with optional bay window. It’s beautiful.

Ryan Homes The Avalon, is a beautiful 4 or 5 bedroom home with a  nice alternate floor plan and options. Looks great with all siding or brick, even partials with stone.  Use of stone is now very popular and we went with the option Fieldstone Autumn Buckeye.  The siding is  Island Pearl with white trim and black shutters.  The elevation is B.

We have lived in our home for 2 months now and love it. First I would like to share all the positive. Our options and what the Avalon looks like. We have let RH show our home a few times to prospective buyers. Even the model home that we looked at was not the exact floor plan and it is no longer open.
